By Solopreneurs is written for people building a business largely on their own. This page explains who writes it, where the material comes from, how the site makes money, and what to do when we get something wrong.
Who writes this site
By Solopreneurs is published by Andreas, who has worked as a solopreneur for more than eight years building SaaS products, has sold two of those projects, and still runs others. That background is the reason the site exists and also its main bias: it is written from the perspective of someone who runs a small business alone, not from the perspective of a large team or an enterprise buyer.

Where the material comes from
Founder stories and case studies start with direct contact. We approach founders and interview them about the decisions, constraints and turning points behind what they built, and the article is written from that conversation together with public sources, company filings, launch posts, interviews, store pages and archived versions of their own sites.
Where a claim comes from somewhere else, we link to that source rather than restating it. Where a figure cannot be verified — self-reported revenue is the common case, the article says who reported it instead of presenting it as established fact.
How we review tools
Reviews are written from use. We work inside the product, on a real account, on the kind of task a solopreneur would actually use it for, and the screenshots in a review are taken from that account or from the vendor’s own current material.
Two limits are worth stating plainly. We do not run laboratory benchmarks, so where a review discusses speed it describes what we observed rather than a measured score. And pricing moves constantly and varies by country, so a review describes what a plan includes and points at the vendor’s pricing page for the current number rather than quoting a figure that will be wrong within a quarter.
How this site makes money
By Solopreneurs earns affiliate commission. When an article links to a product and you buy it, we may be paid a commission by that company at no additional cost to you. Those links are the site’s main source of income and are what pays for the interviews and the time spent testing.
We are not paid to publish a review, and no company is given approval over what a review says before it goes out. A commission is available on many of the products covered here and on some of their competitors, so the presence of a link is not a recommendation in itself — the verdict in the text is.
Accuracy and corrections
We correct mistakes rather than quietly deleting them. If an article contains a factual error, tell us and we will fix it; where the correction changes the substance of what the article argued, we note the change in the article rather than making it disappear.
If you are the founder or the company written about and something here is wrong, write to us and we will look at it. That includes disputed figure, we would rather publish your number and say where it came from than leave a wrong one standing.
Keeping articles current
Software reviews go stale faster than anything else on this site. We revisit reviews and comparisons when a product changes materially, and articles carry the date they were last worked on. If an article claims a current year in its title, that is a commitment to have checked it that year.
